The first player MUST play a Flight Card from their hand.  They move their dragon on the board, in accordance with the movement grid, and then slide the card below their Dragon Card with the Evasion and Combat icons aligned. The card remains there until the round is over. During its move a dragon may move through a space occupied by another dragon but they can not end their move in the same space as another dragon.

Any Flight Card may instead be played face-down in the same manner as a face-up Flight Card.  A face-down Flight Card allows the dragon to move forward a number of squares up to the dragon’s Speed (listed on the Dragon Card).  Following the forward move you MAY then turn 90 degrees.  You MUST move at least 1 space forward before turning. Face-down Flight Cards do not affect Evasion or Combat.

Dragons can not move past the borders of the map.  If a dragon begins its move at the map edge facing off the map they may play a valid Flight Card (Barrel Roll or Hover) or a face-down Flight Card.  The face-down Flight Card only allows the player to turn their dragon 90 degrees, since they can not move forward.
